Review: Neutrogena Deep Hydrating Mask

Neutrogena is a drugstore fave for most people, but not me. That’s because I had a bad experience with them once, and never tried any of their products again. Anyone remember their anti-acne line? I went to a dermatologist and she told me that some used it had great results but those with sensitive skin would most likely have an allergic reaction. I was to stop using the line immediately. LOL. I think that line was discontinued soon after.

I got this Neutrogena Deep Hydrating Mask as a free gift and it’s time to give Neutrogena a second chance. Neutrogena Deep Hydrating Mask is an intensive facial treatment mask that replenishes and restores moisture instantly and deeply for long lasting moisturization and bouncy skin. Shaped to lift the face, each mask instantly boost skin moisture level 12 times with a penetration Vitamin C formula, leaving skin soft and dewy with a healthy glow. (From Watson’s website)

There is just enough serum covering the mask and I couldn’t detect any scent to it when I opened this mask. Just to be sure, I took a deep shift and still couldn’t smell anything! I’m so surprised by this. There’s other brands on the market that claims their mask to be scent free but I can still detect ‘something’. When I put this on, I’m surprised again – this mask fit my face perfectly. It’s a better fit than those masks I tried recently such as Innisfree or RedSkin. The mask is slightly thicker than those I’m used to. The serum does not drips down and I felt a cooling sensation. I left this mask on my face for 15 minutes as per instruction and removed it.

What do you think? I don’t see any brightening or glowy effects after removing the mask. I feel that my skin is slightly more moisturised but not like what it claims – 12x skin moisture. Another plus point is this mask does not have any sticky residue at all once the serum is absorbed into the skin. For once, I did not have to wash my face after applying a sheet mask. This is a really decent mask and I do think I will purchase this again if it is on offer.

Neutrogena Deep Hydrating Masks is available in Watson’s or Guardian retailing at RM53 per box of 5.
