Two years ago in Hong Kong, I went into a dermatologist clinic near my house to check them out as I had lots of acne scars. The dermatologist recommended a course for me, which I rejected since it was damn expensive at HKD20,000 for 5 treatment. They recommend I try 1 treatment first at a discounted rate of HKD2,000 (RM1,000). I paid HKD500 as a deposit which the receptionist says it’s refundable if I changed my mind.
I went back to the clinic in the afternoon, and another dermatologist saw me. She recommended another course to me which is so strange and told me I needed at least 20-30 treatments for my face, and results wasn’t guaranteed. Just the way she was telling me, made me uncomfortable and so I changed my mind and wanted my money back. However, I wasn’t allowed to take back my money, and I can only exchanged it for products they are selling! This is how I ‘got’ Elta MD Skincare UV Physical Broad Spectrum SPF 41.
It is a chemical free sunscreen that uses the natural mineral UV protection of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. Formulated for extra-sensitive and post-procedure skin, EltaMD Physical is safe for all skin types. Gentle and lightly tinted, it provides excellent protection against UVA(ageing) and UVB(burning) rays. EltaMD UV Physical has antioxidants to help absorb free radicals generated by sun exposure. It applies quickly to the face and can be used alone or under makeup. Elated UV Physical is fragrance-free, oil-free, paraben-free, sensitivity-free and noncomedogenic. Directions: Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply after 40 minutes of swimming or sweating, immediately after towel drying, and at least every 2 hours.
Thoughts: It is a mousse texture and tinted sunscreen with typical sunscreen scent. It provides sheer coverage, but it goes on really patchy and it’s hard to blend out. The more I rub to blend it, the product starts to flake! Like if you’re doing a scrub but just tinted version lol. I tried to sweep away the flakes from my face but it’s impossible to get it all off. OMG. The longer I wore this on my face, I notice it clings onto the dry patches near my cheek and is very drying. Just the other day, I tried this product on the back of my hands (review purposes) and noticed it made my hand super dry too. Even hand cream couldn’t help with the dryness.
Out of all the products that I’ve reviewed, this is the product that disappoints me the most. Maybe is has to do with me feeling ‘forced’ to buy this product. It is a pricey product, and Lazada is selling this for RM266.I hated this so much that after reviewing it, this will go straight into the bin.
In case anyone is interested in this product – after all, it is an award winning sunscreen! This product is available on Amazon.
